How to heal our hearts and minds in these times of turmoil?
It seems with the ongoing madness of global social and ecological destruction the urgency to do so is ever greater. Wherever you look living systems are in crisis. In the animal and plant kingdom, family systems, immune systems, school and political systems, (the list goes on endlessly) ‚… with inevitable repercussions to our inner emotional world.
It seems that as this earth is pushed to its ultimate limits, so are we. Needless to say that all of this is incredibly stressful and exhausting. It's just really hard to keep up with who is bombing who and at the same time worry about the shrinking habitat of polar bears, while making sure that we are making a living and meeting all our deadlines.
In all this there is no time to rest and no time to think about what we really should be doing with our limited time on earth. And yet, we are suffering the constant awareness of what is going on. This can be a very lonely and frightening place.
We therefore need to return.
Return to love.
For ourselves and for this beautiful broken earth.
Never before has the need been greater to stand up for life.
For ourselves and future generations (both are inherently linked).
We need to start by healing ourselves and come to a greater place of compassion.
From there we can reach out.
In this spirit I invite you to this unique workshop in the middle of nature. Here you can be inspired, rest, replenish and refuel. You will be given avenues to reconnect with yourself, heal, and find ways that are meaningful and feasible for yourself to help shift this global Titanic around. You will be catered for with the delicious local organic vegan food, which means these are also detox days.
Each one of us has unique talents and aspirations, even if they are dormant and hidden. In this workshop, based on Joanna Macy's work, you will be guided through different exercises that help you reconnect with your self, life and the world at large. Through individual and group exercises, indoors and outdoors, you will be invited to connect to nature and the nature of life.
The process is a way to maintain balance and joy; a waking up to the beauty of life; a realization that we belong to this world and that the web of life is calling us forth at this time. These exercises will strengthen and restore your awareness of how delicately interwoven we all are in the finite web of life. They help you break from the illusion, this prison cell, of the lonely separate self. The workshop has the aim of giving you strength, courage and a new outlook on life, despite, or perhaps because of the mess out there (and possibly within). It is a profoundly empowering and enriching experience in this critical moment in time.
